Why “Weapon Systems”

One of the ways we believe ADR is set apart from other firearms companies is our fully fleshed out, thought through systems that not only appeal aesthetically, but also functionally.

Each system is a purpose built to fulfil a need and every component packed into those builds is not only truly the highest quality, but also chosen explicitly to compliment the intended use of the weapon. These firearms come out of the box ready to roll as the nicest gun you’ve put your hands on, with exceptional fit and finish and enviable smoothness. They sport as well, elegant colorways; “Scorched Earth”, “Rain Forrest”, and “Street Fighter”. These carefully crafted combinations of colors and components make a coherent and handsome weapon. A top of the line weapon deserves both top of the line components and looks. They are more than pieced together guns. They are complete, harmonious systems.

The Dissipator

The Dissipator rifle has existed since the 80s as an attempt to create compact rifle with smooth cycling. Originally crafted by Colt, a Dissipator is configured with the longest possible gas tube on the shortest possible barrel to reduce dwell time. What’s dwell time you ask? Thank you for bringing that up, it’s an important concept here. Dwell time is the amount of time the gas in the barrel has to build pressure before it enters the gas port and begins pushing the action to cycle. It’s essentially the delay or “dwell” between the bullet leaving the barrel and the gas system engaging. So, with a curtailed dwell time, the action on a rifle can be extremely “soft”, granted it has enough gas to cycle your firearm. Often, this means manufactures open up the gas ports on barrels configured in a dissipator style. This is well and good and we’re big fans of these rifles here at ADR but what happens when you suppress this weapon? Given the opened gas port to allow normal function, the addition of a suppressor and the accompanying back pressure leaves your over gassed and dirty. No good. So to combat this on our dissipater build we’ve included the finest adjustable gas block on the market, the Rifle Speed. The Rifle Speed gas block allows tool free, quick and precise adjustments to your system. Regardless of suppressor, ammo or conditions you can rapidly and easily tune you system to your preferences. want to make sure it cycles firmly? Crank the gas up! want to delete recoil and shoot what now feels like a .22LR? turn it down till it barely runs. We believe the way we have designed, assemble and selector components for our rifles is truly the best possible weapon. We built it because its what we wanted and we’re confident once you use one of our rifles, there’s no going back.

Why We Prefer Hiperfire Triggers

A precisely machined receiver set, a barrel, and good ammo are phenomenal ways to improve your shooting, but a quality trigger is undoubtedly one of the best was to increase your performance downrange. Because of this, we prefer Hiperfire Triggers.

Hiperfire makes a light and incredibly crisp trigger that will surprise even an experienced shooter. Unless you have already tested one yourself, you will be impressed. Seriously. Despite having a light pull and minimal creep, the hammer strikes with sufficient force to ignite any standard cartridge. This offers reliability we want from our weapon systems in addition to an enhanced shooting experience. Often, trigger manufactures create a “light” trigger pull by reducing the power of the hammer spring, therefore reducing friction on the sear connection. This, however, leads to light strikes and malfunctions. Hiperfire found away around this problem, implementing a secondary set of springs to reduce sear friction and maintain reliable strikes. This and other interesting information is detailed out on their site. https://www.hiperfire.com/hipertech/

They are a small operation out of Minnesota, and like us, they are composed of shooters and engineers alike. The company is a pleasure to work and their triggers are a pleasure to shoot. Paired with the craftmanship and quality of a U.S. rifle, it makes for an unrivaled shooting experience.
